So what is this “Divergent thing?”
According to the dictionary, “Definition of divergent
““tending to be different or develop in different directions.”
It’s deviating from the norm, it’s trying to get away from the crowd.
It’s what every artist that has ever existed has tried to do to get a distinctive voice or style, it’s looking for your own way. It’s forcing yourself to use your very unique way of looking at life and trying not to be a reproducer or copier of other peoples styles. Divergent Photography is not actually a style but a path, you start by trying to not take the pictures that everybody else has taken, and you try to put your personality in your photos or your view or your way. If you do not do that you will just be another pebble in the sand, another drop of water in the ocean. You could say it’s a social movement, directed to photographers that are frustrated because they can not do anything meaningful, well this is for you you frustrated photographer, join the divergent photographic movement and throw away your old perceptions of photography and bring to the surface your own photography, be yourself, be unique, make a hole in the correctness of photographic traditions and be whatever you want to be, if you only want to photograph eyes, do it, if you want the skies to be red instead of blue, do it, if you want to replace peoples heads for that of animals because they look like animals, do it, you can with photoshop, so break apart from the tradition and look deep inside your soul and bring out that inner you and express it with a very loud voice who you really are.
That my friends is the concept behind “The Divergent Photographic Movement”
