Back in the late 1700s the Spanish arrived, they had already conquered almost all what was to be mexico, enslaving all the indians that they could making them work in the gold mines, the Spanish conquistadors were mainly interested in the gold and they used the indians to work the mines. And the Spanish Catholic monks that came with them represented a benevolent God that had to be worshiped or you would be executed.
Today the descendants of the Indians own the casinos in all California but that’s a different story for another time.
One of the most interesting places in Oceanside is “the Pier ” one of the main tourist attractions.
The Oceanside Pier is not meant to be a pier for ships it’s more of a fishing pier but it also has other uses like;
- Going to eat, it has a restaurant at the end of the pier
- You can go fishing
- Great for taking your wedding pictures
- You can also take your quinceañera pictures there.
- As the background for the movie “Top Gun” with Tom Cruise” back in 1986 (28 years ago)
- Just for a walk
- Surfing USA
- Music Concerts
